**We are looking for exceptional people to work with children aged 18 months - 6 years in our after school program.** The role begins on September 4th, 2024 and will require you to act as a team member in our extended care program after school from 3p.m-6p.m Monday-Friday in our Montessori School in High Park. We only hire professionals who have the determination to be positive and inspirational role models for our students. **Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children in a daycare setting, summer camp, educational or youth development setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and establish positive relationships with students and parents.

**Responsibilities**

Student Supervision:

- Ensure the safety and well-being of students participating in afterschool programs.
- Supervise and engage students in age-appropriate activities, including sports, arts, and other extracurricular programs.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address academic or behavioral concerns.
- Supporting toileting during after school programs, where appropriate. This involves creating a safe, comfortable, and age-appropriate environment for children who may still be in the process of mastering toileting skills.
- Enforcement of Rules and Policies:Enforce school and after school program rules and policies to maintain a positive and safe environment.

Address behaviour issues according to established procedures and using positive discipline.

Emergency Preparedness:

- Be familiar with and adhere to emergency procedures and protocols.

Ensure that emergency contact information for students is up to date.

Team Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other after school staff, teachers, and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
- Attend meetings and training sessions to stay informed about school policies and procedures.

Facility Supervision:

- Monitor the use of facilities during after school hours.

Ensure proper care and use of equipment and materials.

Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation in afterschool programs.

Document incidents, issues, and achievements as needed.
- Positive Engagement:Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for students.

Encourage student engagement in activities that promote learning and personal development.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.24-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
