**Position Summary**:
The Knowledge Exchange Specialist develops and implements culturally safe approaches to knowledge exchange, information dissemination, and education across the provincial health system. This position leads Knowledge Exchange activities through the development of processes and tools, and through translation of research and practice for audiences within/outside of BC. This includes but is not limited to documenting wise practices developed locally to internationally and also in academia, the health system or in community level initiatives. This position works in collaboration with team members to develop a consolidated research agenda by providing specialized input related to knowledge exchange and dissemination. This position builds and maintains internal and external partnerships key to ensure successful knowledge exchange.

**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.**

**Responsibilities**:
**Knowledge Exchange**
- Identifies issues, processes and distills information from a range of sources, evaluates implications, and analyzes gaps to provide recommendations in reports, briefings, and presentations.
- Develops and leads the coordination of platforms and mechanisms for knowledge exchange to be used across the health system, including amongst data access partners.
- Manages assigned projects; proactively anticipates and resolves issues or delays and exercises judgment in bringing sensitive or challenging issues to management.
- Conducts research and provides information and recommendations to the Director in development of work plans and strategies in research, ethics, and data access.
- Reports progress and deviations in Knowledge Exchange activities and work plans and makes recommendations to Director.

**Management Support**
- Support the implementation of quality standards and appropriate processes in the work of the team
- Develop and oversee work plans and project plans, and provides input to budgets as required

**Qualifications**:
Education
- University Degree in a related field such as health policy, public health, Indigenous governance, health systems management, political or social science or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Experience
- Three (3) years of recent, related experience.
- Recent and relevant experience in project management
- Experience working with First Nations
- Experience working in health research
- Experience in the use of software such as Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel

- Awareness - Thorough knowledge of the current First Nations health governance landscape in BC and the critical issues and opportunities for BC First Nations health.
- Analysis - Synthesizes, assesses and analyzes large volumes of information and applies strategic and tactical thinking, including the ability to understand multiple perspectives, to develop proposed frameworks, approaches, recommendations with mínimal supervision.
- Teamwork/collaboration - Strong interpersonal skills. Interacts with people effectively. Able and willing to share and receive information. Collaborates within the group and across groups. Supports group decisions. Puts group goals ahead of own goals.
