**How You’ll Help Us Better Serve Our Clients**

As the **Legal Administrative Assistant Float Coordinator**, you will play a vital role in the growth and success of our **Business Law** and** Litigation** groups. You’ll work closely with all practice areas while working alongside the Float Team on a daily basis. You’ll be the first point of contact when legal administrative assistants, students, or lawyers require assistance and coverage.

This role will allow you to gain experience in multiple fields and grow within a collaborative team that is there to support you every step of the way.

**What You’ll Be Doing**

Every day will bring new and exciting opportunities to learn and grow, but below are some of the regular tasks you can expect to work on:

- Provide float coverage (up to 50%) as required;
- Work as the first point of contact for lawyers requiring assistance when their legal assistant is absent;
- Work closely with HR to coordinate Legal Administrative Assistant vacation coverage and forecast the coverage required for duties such as trial preparation, extended vacation coverage, Float vacation, etc.;
- Work with HR on training and development needs within the float group, including file opening, file closing and billing;
- Organize the float in-office schedule and ensure a Litigation Float and Business Law Float are on-site at all times;
- Assist HR with float recruitment and the interview process; and
- Build strong communication within the float team by utilizing Microsoft Teams, posting New Float announcements and coordinating regular meetings as a group and one-on-one.
- Maintaining an efficient file management and bring-forward system;
- Liaising with legal assistants, paralegals, other lawyers and clients on file progress; and
- General administrative duties as required.

**How You’ll Be a Great Fit For This Role**
- Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program or relevant experience;
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, working in the areas of Business Law and Litigation;
- A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role working in a legal environment is an asset;
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and BC Online;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- The ability to prioritize a high volume of tasks and competing priorities;
- A client-centered approach with the commitment to providing outstanding service;
- The ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlines;
- Dedicated to providing service beyond expectation; and
- The ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and adapt to changing demands.
