The **Cancer Systems and Innovation Division** supports initiatives to improve equitable access, to better experiences and outcomes, and to advance reconciliation throughout Canada’s cancer system. The division enables system change with data, research, innovation, and modelling. Work of the division is primarily accomplished through partnerships across Canada to implement evidence-informed and co-developed solutions, encompassing everything from prevention and screening to diagnosis and clinical care through to palliative care and survivorship.

**Overview of role**:
The **Lead, Screening** supports the Cancer Systems and Innovation Division in carrying out projects and initiatives to achieve organizational priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Screening, the incumbent coordinates and provides support to deliver on screening program/project priorities. As a highly organized professional with strong technical and systems thinking skills, this position delivers on the tasks of the job while contributing to CPAC’s overall vision to reduce the burden of cancer on all Canadians.

**Core responsibilities and activities**:
**Program management**:

- Leads the implementation of pan-Canadian initiatives to increase cancer screening quality, participation, and equity.
- Works with the team to drive the successful development and execution of plans that align with stakeholder priorities and CPAC’s mandate.
- Establishes project foundations and standard baseline data for quality initiatives, including preparation of internal strategic documents such as full project plans.
- Applies evidence and findings from literature reviews to advise on portfolio work and emerging trends in cancer screening.
- Supports the Director and Managers in strategic planning and decision making, including the development of long-and short-term plans and projects and determining desired project outcomes.
- Guides the work of analysts and students in the development of content focus for network meetings, workshops, working group meetings, and quality initiative projects.
- Works with teams to design and implement evaluation frameworks and approaches (including indicators and targets) that measure and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of screening initiatives and prepare reports on status and findings to support pan-Canadian measurement and CPAC performance measurement to Health Canada.
- Oversees, and supports management of, external vendor and partner funded contracts including timely delivery of quality products and milestone and budget monitoring.
- Engages with cancer screening partners and stakeholders to respond to partner needs through co-creation of funding initiatives, knowledge products, and key resources.

**General accountabilities**:

- Writes technical reports, providing content expertise for stakeholder engagement, and supports the collection and reporting of pan-Canadian screening program data.
- Leads and supports partner engagement and maintains continuous partner relations.
- Acts as the primary contact and source of substantive information regarding program content, status, and findings, to both internal & external stakeholders.
- Assists the Director, Managers, Cancer Control Division, and other Divisions as needed.
- Performs other duties and ad hoc projects as required.

**Competencies**:
The Partnership has core competencies which describe the behaviours we expect to be exhibited by staff. **Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in public health, Health Administration, Health Policy, or other relevant discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience, preferably in the non-profit or healthcare sector.
- Education or experience with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis
