**Position Summary**
**Safety**:
**Maintenance** - As required to ensure consistent operation of ALL our equipment, Supervisors are expected to have a superior working knowledge and take pride in not only the functionality of our equipment, but also in the appearance and presentation of our equipment - driving an intensive regular maintenance schedule for all equipment - coupled with rigorous training of personnel to complete time sensitive maintenance schedules & techniques. Blackstone is always on display to our customers, and as an organization, we insist upon putting our best efforts and performance forward each and every job.
**Inventory Control** -It is vital that Supervisors can eliminate wastage while maintaining supplies, communication, parts, fittings, consumables, PPE and specialized safety gear. This ensures Blackstone can optimize service to our customers. Supervisors must be consistently tracking usage trends and opportunities to ensure that inventory levels are always at optimum operational levels whilst controlling inventory within budget constraints.
**Job Procedures** - Supervisors are the chief driving forces at ensuring that job quality, safety requirements, and standards of procedure coincide or exceed Blackstone company standards, government legislation, and customer requirements. Field Supervisors must be fully aware and able to troubleshoot potential challenges within process procedures - and both suggest and pro-actively assist in refining improvements whenever possible in efforts to improve services to our team and our customers. Working knowledge of OH&S act guidelines and Alberta's "Right to Refuse Unsafe Work" policy.
**Job Quality** - It is critical that Supervisors fully participate in the investigation of any incidents that involve failure of compliance with policies and regulations. Additionally, it is important the Field Supervisors conduct regular assessments and review of systems and personnel to evaluate and improve working conditions, employee safety, policy, procedures, and operational practices.
**Responsibilities**:
- Arranges and coordinates all equipment and personnel for jobs. Finalizes all paperwork upon completion of a job
- Ensures that all jobs are performed in a safe and efficient manner
- All safety related concerns and efficiency problems to be dealt with in an expedited manner. All resources within Blackstone as well as appropriate outside sources shall be summoned to correct problems
- Ensures that all Blackstone safety policies are followed and at the very least the minimum standard will be the local government equivalent
- Ensures that all Blackstone operations standards are adhered to. Reports any and all deficiencies for immediate correction
- Performs client update meetings as required to ensure that Blackstone clients are well informed regarding the status of their jobs
- Monitors expenditures and costs controls for projects
- Contributes in design and development of new tools, equipment, and procedures
- Maintains daily contact with Field Service Manager - Industrial / Pipeline
**Experience & Skills**:
- Class 1 Driver's License is preferred, Valid Class 5 Driver’s License may be considered
- A clean Driver's Abstract is required
- 10 years relevant industry/pipeline experience.
- High school diploma
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with subordinates, coworkers, management and clients
- Good organizational skills. Able to coordinate large projects at the same time as their own schedules
- Proven ability to manage timelines and stay on schedule
- Strong technical and practical knowledge of operations, products, company policies and government regulations
- Working knowledge of OH&S regulations
