ScanTech is a leading advanced technology inspection company providing services in Canada and worldwide.

ScanTech specializes in non-destructive gamma scanning services, pipe scanning, level measurements and flooded member detection. These services are used primarily in the downstream oil, gas, and petrochemical industries both onshore and offshore.

ScanTech makes our customer's processes more efficient, more productive, and safer.
When our customers have problems, timely decisions can affect millions of dollars in cost and revenue at their sites. Our advanced services give them information that cannot be obtained by any other method.

As a Field Inspector you will be supporting our existing and new technologies on customer sites in Canada and around the world. You will travel to the plant site, climb distillation towers, work with radioactive materials, gather data, and write reports. Offshore work may require extended periods of time on a boat.

When you are not actively supporting customer jobs, you will be expected to ready equipment, perform repairs, assist with equipment build or design, perform marketing activities, and talk to customers.

Health and safety are top priorities for ScanTech and you will be asked to meet our safety standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations for the role. ScanTech maintains a non-smoking environment in our offices and vehicles.

Your duties will consist of, but are not limited to:

- Adhere to all ScanTech, customer, and industry safety practices and requirements
- Safely handle sealed radioactive sources
- Understand mass transfer fundamentals, basic processes, and different plant vessels
- Understand our equipment and services in order to troubleshoot and perform repairs
- Communicate effectively to the team and customers
- Reading technical documents including vessel drawings and P&IDs
- Data acquisition, analysis and report writing

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Must be able to legally work in Canada for any employer without requiring visa sponsorship
- Possess a valid passport - or be eligible for a Canadian passport
- Speak and write English
- Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
- Pass a police background check
- Pass a drug and alcohol test

We are looking for individuals with the following characteristics and skills.
- Post secondary education, certification in industrial, or technical related field
- Strong organizational, speaking and writing skills. Customer benefit focused.
- Trustworthy and reliable. Follow rules and instructions with mínimal supervision. Must be able to work independently in an effective manner.
- Able to collaborate as part of a team with a diverse workforce
- Comfortable working at heights from a platform, crane man basket or other aerial lift equipment
- Physically capable of climbing tower ladders of up to 100 meters in height while carrying equipment in backpacks
- Ability to stay on a boat for extended days or weeks
- Ability to work outside in both hot and cold environments
- Must be willing to travel overnight, sometimes on short notice, over weekends, and be "on-call". Domestic and international work can occur with little warning.
- Ability to travel/work in the USA, Europe, South America, Asia, and the Middle East.
