**What can I expect to do in this role?**:

- Assist with the planning, promoting and coordinating of partnership opportunities with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities focusing on resource management initiatives.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of Indigenous initiatives and economic development opportunities across the district.
- Providing information and advice to external clients through a variety of methods such as meetings, phone calls, correspondence to promote participation, understanding and co
- operation, in MNRF's sustainable resource management programs (e.g. Forest and Fish & Wildlife Management planning, Land Management Programs).
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation and tracking of contact and liaison with communities and individuals. Ensuring the required reports and documentation are produced and available.
- Assist in tracking expenditures for District programs and initiatives with communities.
- Assist in the preparation of management plans to ensure the consideration of Indigenous interests and foster input from communities.
- Supporting issues management by researching and analyzing background material; monitoring and preparing summaries of media coverage of issues, events and response to communication initiatives; assisting with preparing press releases, articles, reports and newsletters.
- Assisting with the delivery of a variety of resources and support services in preparation for delivery of resource management information, public awareness or preparation for negotiations and when organizing special events and conferences.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You must have graduated or will complete the requirements to graduate with a degree, diploma or post-graduate certificate from a recognized or legally authorized post-secondary institution in the last five years (May 2019-August 2024).
- You must self-identify as an Indigenous person. The term Indigenous refers to individuals who identify as being descended from the original inhabitants (the first peoples) of what is now known as Canada. In this context, Indigenous people are First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit.
- You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- You must be a resident of Ontario during the term of employment.

**Technical Knowledge**:

- You have knowledge of resource management principles and practices.
- You demonstrate an understanding of Indigenous culture, social, and economic issues to provide valuable input and advice.

**Communication, Interpersonal and Organization Skills**:

- You have written communication skills to prepare technical reports, presentations, briefings, and communication materials.
- You have organizational skills to assist in planning and delivering meetings, workshops, and managing multiple projects concurrently.
