**NOTE**:_This represents a 2-year contract.**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Manager, Research and Faculty Development, the incumbent manages and executes the day-to-day operations of the research unit. He/she is also the resource person for administrative processes related to research. The incumbent is the main point of contact for the administration of all research-related activities at JMSB under the purview of the Associate Dean’s office.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide information to faculty, students, and staff regarding the administration of research funds and activities. Manage ADR schedule.
- Primary contact for JMSB’s Budget Office, Office of Research, Financial Services, Advancement and other internal and external stakeholders on matters related to research administration.
- In collaboration with the ADR and Manager, develop and implement policies and procedures related to research development and administration internal to the faculty.
- Oversee and coordinate the internal process for graduate awards allocation and act as main point of contact for the faculty on the matter. Provide research-related scholarship advice to students enrolled in the programs.
- Manage, organize, attend, and document all activities leading to and following the meetings of various research-related committees (agendas, notices, minutes, preparation of dossiers, follow-up, memos, and responses to inquiries).
- Administer research grants by ensuring that expenses are in line with policies and allocations (e.g., expense reports, TRAC contracts, web requisitions) and by preparing documentation related to grant administration (e.g., notice of award, extension requests, etc.). Ensure careful archiving and reporting of information in relation to research activities and their budgets.
- Assist the Office of the Associate Dean, Accreditation and Faculty Relations with research-related needs such as conducting verifications of curriculum vitae in software for research reporting accuracy.
- Conceive, organize and supervise events/activities such as workshops, AGRE, research and faculty development activities, MSc/PhD reception, etc.
- Collaborate with Communications and others to develop faculty’s visibility within the university. Participate in online research promotional material and website design development and ensure that information posted on the web site is up-to-date and accurate.
- Administer, and report on, ADR’s research funds and budgets. Ensure proper monitoring of activities and reporting of research centres and other privately funded research initiatives (e.g., endowed professorships) as well as overseeing the ADR annual report, in collaboration with the Manager, research and faculty development.
- Act as a resource person and provide the necessary documentation and logístical support for academic visitors and post-doctoral appointments.
- Provide outreach and logístical support to the Manager and the ADR in creating partnerships with universities, research institutes, and organizations.
- Perform other duties in support of the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience of relevant experience including at least 2 years in research administration and/or research grant management.
- Very good spoken and written English (Level 4) to communicate effectively and to draft correspondence, documentation, and reports; good spoken French (Level 4) in order to communicate effectively with external partners; and good written French (Level 4) to understand external documents.
- Exceptionally detail oriented, with demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines and to juggle multiple demands and priorities.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures and excellent analytical skills to synthesize information and to develop and implement new policies and procedures.
