**About the Position**

**Key Responsibilities**

**Program Coordination**:

- With support from the Executive Director, develop, implement, and manage programs that support the Chamber’s mission and strategic goals.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to ensure objectives are met.
- Coordinate with various partners, including members, affiliates, and volunteers, to support program activities.

**Marketing and Communications**:

- Assist in the creation and dissemination of marketing materials, newsletters, and social media content to promote programs and events.
- Manage social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), engaging with the community and increasing our online presence.
- Support the development of content for the Chamber’s website and ensure timely updates.

**Policy Coordination and Government Relations Work**:

- Track relevant policy developments and legislative changes that impact the 2SLGBTQIA+ business community.
- Assist in drafting policy briefs, position statements, and advocacy materials.
- Support the Executive Director in their work with government representatives and advocacy groups to advance the Chamber’s policy objectives.

**Event Coordination**:

- Support in the ideation and execution a variety of events, including but not limited to workshops, webinars, networking events, and annual conferences.
- Handle event logistics, including venue arrangements, scheduling, registration, and post-event evaluations.
- Ensure events run smoothly and meet the needs of participants.

**Member Relations**:

- Serve as a point of contact for members, addressing inquiries, providing information, and fostering positive relationships.
- Assist in member recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Coordinate member communications and manage membership databases.

**Educational Requirements and Work Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience of at least 1 year in program coordination or a similar role, preferably in a nonprofit setting. The Chamber supports providing opportunities for young business professionals, paid/unpaid internships or campus roles may serve as equivalents.
- Specializations in marketing, communications, or government relations is an asset.

Technical Skills and Experience:

- Proficiency in using office software such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with marketing and CRM software, social media platforms, and content management systems.
- Experience with project management software such as Asana.
- Experience with event planning and coordination tools.

Planning and Coordination Skills:

- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Adaptability and flexibility to pivot and respond to changing circumstances and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, members, board, and other partners.
- Ability to work independently in a largely remote-based environment.

Additional Details:

- Position Type: Full time, Term Employment Ending on June 30, 2025, with a strong possibility of renewal.
- Time Commitment: 40 hours a week with some flexibility in terms of scheduling
- Work Structure: Remote. Employees should expect to be attending in-person meetings from time to time with staff, members, board, and other partners. In order to work effectively with the Executive Director the applicant must live in or be able to relocate to the Edmonton area
- Start Date: Immediate.
