Role Title

Product Analyst

Purpose of role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Initiatives & Integration, Governance and Canadian Competitive Intelligence, the focus of this Product Analyst position will be to support a broad spectrum of product management functions.

The Product Analyst supports product development for US and Canadian products (new, existing, and discontinued) by analyzing, developing, designing, solutioning and supporting the product management function. The product analyst develops, implements, and manages product specifications,

rules, competitive intelligence materials, and training for new and existing products, including InsureTech partnerships, enhancements and related functions including projects and day to day operations.

**Job Description**:
Key Responsibilities
- Provide valuable insights through reports and presentations for competitive intelligence and adhoc requests.
- Provide input into recommendations to allow key stakeholders to make sound decisions.
- Develop, review, and maintain various product materials and documentation.
- Support product initiatives and enhancements through documenting product design documents and reviewing IT and vendor requirement documents.
- Facilitate product training on new and existing products.
- Operate with a large degree of autonomy, over all aspects of work. Use expertise and judgment when making decisions and seeking/providing opinions, validation, or assistance.

Key Qualifications & Skills
- General understanding of principles of project management (ex. estimating, planning,
- tracking).
- Intermediate to advanced use of a wide variety of PC software (ex. MS Excel, PowerPoint, Office). A proficiency test may be required.
- University degree / college diploma and 3-5 years broad base experience (including
- insurance product knowledge) or a minimum of 5-8 years experience in life insurance. Strong mathematical, analytical, and logical inclinations preferred.
- LOMA designations would be assets.
- Ability to assess new and existing system capabilities and its impact on business processes and product development/management.
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal), including the ability to facilitate relationships across multiple levels of personnel.
- Proactive, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while at the same time meeting deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, logical thinking, reasoning and problem solving abilities, leading to high quality solutions, recommendations and decision making.
