Vertex is a contracting company based out of Kitchener, ON, that specializes in the remediation of contaminated sites via the injection of chemicals into the subsurface, and the installation of treatment systems. The Remediation Division implements a wide variety of remedial technologies including in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR), bioaugmentation, ex-situ soil mixing, at sites across Canada and internationally. Vertex is looking for a Field Technician who will specialize in the field implementation of Remediation Programs at project sites.

**Job Functions**:
Responsible for reviewing technical memos and understanding environmental site conditions. Work as part of a Team to execute remedial injection programs at project sites across Canada which include the following;
- Review technical memorandums and drawings to understand environmental site conditions and proposed remediation programs
- Collaborate with various parties including subcontractors, drillers, environmental consultants, property owners to implement remediation programs at project sites
- Address real-time concerns and challenges in the field, including equipment troubleshooting, investigation of subsurface preferential pathways, delivery issues
- Mobilization of equipment and chemicals (load, unload, prepare components, operate material handling equipment, chemical inventory) at Vertex warehouse in Kitchener
- Work safely in accordance with Vertex workplace health & safety procedures
- Mix and prepare chemical solutions, operate pumps and equipment, record injection parameters, complete verification monitoring, confirmatory sampling at adjacent wells
- Excellent hands-on experience with environmental remediation, opportunity for career advancement and environmental specialization

**Other Qualifications & Requirements**:

- Degree or Technical Diploma in the environmental field, or equivalent experience in environmental contracting, drilling, general contracting, or other related field
- Valid G driver’s license (insurable)
- Ability to lift 25 kg
- Training certificates (e.g., First Aid, Working at Heights, Forklift) are an asset
- Excellent work ethic and organizational skills
- Mechanical aptitude, and experience with hand tools
- Problem solving skills
- Works well in a Team environment
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
