**The Opportunity**
ILAC Education Group is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our Team of dedicated HR professionals.
**This is a full-time contract position based in Toronto, to cover for maternity leave (20 month contract).**
As a strategic partner to the business, the HR Manager will have to develop a deep understanding of our multifaceted operation, and will specialize in managing HR Operations and Employee Relations areas, building effective relationships inside our company.
**Key Areas of Responsibility and Accountability**:
- Responsible for HR Operation and Employee Relations functions, including onboarding, compensation and benefits, performance and discipline, HRIS, health and safety, offboarding
- Collaborate with Recruitment and Payroll HR teams to ensure effective flow of information across HR functions.
- Champion and develop a team of highly engaged HR Generalists.
- Develop HR policies.
- Provide and cater professional advice to different business units on the full scope of human resources functions to ensure legal compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Foster strong relationships throughout all business units by leading and developing solutions to people related issues.
- Lead on various HR projects as may be needed.
**Requirements**:
- A college/university degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in progressive HR operations and employee relations
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR with oversight and accountability for a team
- Proven success in implementing process improvements and successfully leading/managing projects in HR operations
- Work experience in high volume and fast paced environment with project management and overseeing multiple initiatives; working experience in an education setting is an asset
- Accountable, highly-motivated self-starter
- Professional certification (CHRP) is an asset
- Strong communication and writing skills, excellent organizational and people skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, effective writing skills
- Effective use, deployment, and implementation of HR technology (HRIS), dashboards and analytics. ADP WorkforceNow experience is an asset.
- Sound working knowledge and applied experience with HR practices and principles including provincial legislation (Human Rights, Employment Standards, AODA, Health and Safety)
- Strong relationship management skills with experience in partnering, influencing, coaching and building credibility with leaders and the HR team
