Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

About The Role

**Schedule**: Shift 5/2/4/3 - 9 hour days

**Position Reports To**: Site Services Supervisor

Position Overview

The role of the Construction Journeyperson is to ensure the efficient performance of construction and associated equipment operation activities. Ensure all activities are carried out in conformance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental. This is a 3 month term with posibility to become a full time position.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for the repair and design, scoping, measurement and construction of site infrastructure including

Buildings and facilities repairs,
Stairs and accessways
Concrete works
earthworks and roads and drains maintenance
Installation, inspection and control of scaffolding
Regular maintenance and rerepairs of facilities and furniture
Carpentry works and modifications

Qualifications / Experience

Carpentry Journeyperson ticket
Valid Driver’s license
Scaffolding qualification
Significant experience with concrete form work, reinforcement, placement and finishing
Ability to read and build to engineering drawings
Ability to lead and influence others in a time sensitive environment
Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Ability to work with mínimal supervision in a demanding environment
Experience with skid steer, telehandler, EWP, wheel loader and backhoe/excavator
Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts
Ability to work in a team environment
