Accounting Assistant

Grimsby Ford is currently looking for an **Accounting Assistant (Part time)**
We are looking for someone who is well organized, detail oriented, professional and a team player. Someone who likes to look for irregularities and is not afraid to ask questions regarding expenses.
Reporting to the Controller you will work closely with the management team and be responsible for:
- Preparing & Balancing the Daily Deposit
Accounts Payable:
- Obtain manager approvals for invoices
- Accurate coding of invoices
- Payment of invoices (Cheques & EFT)
- Reconcile and pay VISA statement weekly
- Balance manufacturer monthly statement
Accounts Receivable
- Monthly statements
- Process credit card payments for customer accounts
- Follow up all over due invoices
- Daily filing
- Assisting Controller with month end and year end processes
- Posting weekly manufacturer incentive payments
- Monthly flooring reconciliation
- Reconciling sublet accounts
- Maintaining and updating excel spreadsheets
- Posting manufacturer warranty payments and reconciling account
- Vacation coverage for Controller
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Experience with Excel is a must
- Experience with Automotive dealership accounting and CDK an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must be reliable, organized and have attention to detail
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm daily
Additional hours may be required at peak times (i.e., month end)
**Salary**: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
