**SALARY**:$34.26/hour - $35.28/hour

The Housing Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of BSCS Housing and related facilities. This position will work collaboratively with the Program Manager or staff overseeing the program site, dealing with participants, maintenance & contractors, communications to participants, and managing rent roll (when applicable).

**Position Responsibilities**
- ** Operational Management**
- Works in collaboration with Program Managers to ensure programs and program sites are operational and sustain mínimal damage.
- Overseeing sakihta kikinaw, Sandy’s Place, Montrose, Trinity Manor, and Wâpan’Acâhk Wâskahikan (Morningstar Home).
- Works in collaboration with Maintenance and facilitates contractors for maintenance and repairs of BSCS Housing sites.
- Ensure implementation of leading practices and safety protocols.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate program policies and procedures.
- Ensure accreditation standards are met and implement changes as necessary.
- Ordering of cleaning & office supplies, and of any necessary furniture and equipment needed for the program.
- Carrying out monthly OH&S checks for all buildings used for housing programs and addressing concerns accordingly.
- Facilitate the move-in and move-out of participants.
- Carry out bi-annual room inspections, or as described in the program’s Service Agreement.
- Facilitating evictions.
- Other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor as needed.

**Staff**
- Support program workers, coordinators, and supervisors with their interactions with the housing spaces by providing orientations.
- Debrief and follow-up critical incidents and/or crisis situations with Program Supervisors, as required, to provide support, ensure proper protocol was followed and minimize future incidents.
- In collaboration with Program Manager and Staff identify expectations in room checks and related resources.
- Supervise a team of maintenance staff and third-party contractor’s
- Participate in case conferences and participant goal development as and when needed as it relates to the upkeep of resident unit or program space.
- Perform other sundry duties as required

**Administration**
- Develop and maintain Service Agreements and renewals.
- Work with Program Manager and Staff to provide notices, warnings, and dismissal letters in a timely manner.
- Creating Statement of Accounts.
- Maintain accurate and current financial records, which adhere to agency financial practices.
- Work with Accounts in the set up and payments of utilities.
- Manage budgets, multiple funder requirements and reporting deadlines (where applicable).
- Proof-read and evaluate all Critical Incident Reports related to housing program facilities.
- Acts as delegated spokesperson on issues related to housing or education and advocacy purposes.
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

**Qualifications**
- Post Secondary Degree in a relevant field of study is preferred
- Experience networking with a range of partners and stakeholders
- Capable of accurate assessment of an issue and takes appropriate action to resolve workplace related issues/problems in a timely manner.
- Knowledge and understanding of poverty related issues, trends and services particularly in Edmonton is essential.
- Basic understanding of building maintenance, boiler systems, plumbing, and electrical
- Strong digital and financial literacy is an asset
- Post Secondary Degree in a relevant field and/or relevant work experience
- Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months
- Valid First Aid certificate or enrolled in a future course
- Valid Class 5 license and access to a reliable vehicle
