Graduate and Research Accounting Assistant

**Purpose**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Graduate Studies and Research Services, the Graduate and Research Accounting Assistant will provide financial and administrative support to the Graduate Studies and Research Services office within Osgoode Hall Law School. The role is responsible for providing general financial support, preparing and submitting expense claims, purchasing on SmartBuy, monthly cost centre reconciliation, and posting graduate student awards. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with York policies, Osgoode SOPs, and respective timelines.

**Education**:
Community College diploma in a related discipline such as Commerce, Accounting or Business Administration.

**Experience**:
One to two years of progressive accounting experience, including financial monitoring and analysis, budget reconciliation, financial reporting or equivalent in a Finance department, preferably in an university environment.

**Skills**:
Understanding of accounting principles and practices, strong aptitude for working with numbers where accuracy is essential.

Working knowledge using eReports, Concur and SmartBuy, SIS or similar on-line database.

Intermediate skill level in Word, Excel, e
- software mail (e.g. Outlook).

Demonstrated ability to work courteously and effectively with people and the public.

Obtaining and providing information in a clear and concise manner.
