**Quality Assurance Associate - Job Description**
**About the Role**
**Responsibilities**
- Complete daily document review, and/or verification of forms, reports, and SOPs.
- Performs Quality Assurance compliance audits on GPP, SOP’s and process quality issues.
- Creates and communicates monthly KPI reports for SOP, training, deviation and environmental monitoring systems.
- Assists in the continuous improvement of quality systems
- Ensure all controlled documents in use are current and secured in accordance with GPP.
- Maintains quality system training matrix and communicates requirements in a timely manner.
- Monitor in-process attributes for the product and perform sample collection and moisture testing.
- Create and execute protocols for the evaluation of product attributes against required specifications.
- Review certificates of analysis (COA) for compliance to specification.
- Leads the deviation reporting system and ensures all corrective actions identified are completed and validated.
- Provides necessary training to required employees for non-compliances to Cannabis Regulations, Quality Assurance audits and Health Canada inspections
- Assist with preparations for external audits and inspections including but not limited to Health Canada inspections
- Assist with inventory management of finished products.
- Performs assessment and quality release of packaging components to be used in manufacturing
- Other duties as assigned
**Skills and Abilities**
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, in agriculture, food manufacturing, or pharmaceutical industries and/or experience in a cannabis company is required.
- Experience with regulatory agencies such as Health Canada or Canadian Food Inspection Agency or working in Quality Management Systems - certified company is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and skilled in precision work.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and intermediate experience with Microsoft Office.
- College Diploma or certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations, Quality Assurance, or related field is an asset.
**Abilities and Other Qualifications**
- Capable of working efficiently independently under mínimal supervision and succeed in team environments.
- Ability to follow and write SOPs.
- Ability to conduct independent research on cannabis, industry best practices, and relevant standards and regulations.
- Ability to stay focused and complete repetitive and routine tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Capable of working in adverse conditions including high intensity lighting and constant background noise.
- Ability to work in an indoor environment with high levels of cannabis plant material that may include allergic reaction inducing substances such as pollen.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, hair nets, surgical masks and/or respirators.
- Ability to work occasionally outside of core business hours to meet the needs of the business including weekends is required.
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
- Previous experience working with cannabis under Health Canada regulations (Cannabis Regulations) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the Cannabis Act and Regulations is considered an asset.
**Experience / Education**
- Quality Assurance: 3 years (preferred)
- Must have a Bachelors of Science degree
- Experience working in quality assurance and cannabis is considered an asset
**Environmental Conditions**
The Quality Assurance Associate may be exposed to pollen, allergens, and pesticides at the facility; as well as odors, high temperatures and noise.
**Other**
- Must have own transportation as we are not on a public transportation route.
**Job Types: Full-time, Permanent**
**Schedule**:
- Monday to Friday, weekend & overtime flexibility
- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
**Salary**: $15.50-$20.00 per hour
