**Bethesda Regional Health Centre**
The Bethesda Regional Health Centre supports 73 beds and provides quality acute care services to the community and surrounding area. The hospital is located in Steinbach and serves a population of 35,000-40,000 in the area. Bethesda Regional Health Centre has a long history in Steinbach dating back to 1929 and today is a progressive regional health centre providing primary, secondary and community health care to the residents of Southern Manitoba. **Job Description/Responsibilities**
The Physician/Clinical Assistant (PA/CL.A) is an academically prepared healthcare professional, educated in the medical model that practices medicine under the supervision of licensed physicians within a patient-centered healthcare team. The PA/CL.A will be responsible for comprehensive care to inpatients, which will include initial assessments (including histories and physicals), developing and implementing treatment plans and providing chronic disease management follow-up as appropriate. It is important that productive, cooperative working relationships be established between the Physician/Clinical Assistant and the attending physicians, other primary health care providers, nursing staff, support staff, itinerant consultants, health facility administrators, community leaders, and most importantly, the patients and their families.
The PA/CL.A will primarily be focused on the medical, acute care, rehab and surgical wards; however, assisting on other wards and assisting with lab result monitoring and out-patient care will also be incorporated into the daily routine.
