BRP is seeking a Data Governance Team Lead to play an active role to lead the development and establishment of the data governance landscape and its program at BRP. This position will be responsible for driving the management, and maintenance of a data governance program, which includes a framework, strategic plan, and implementation roadmap. This includes leading the deployment and enforcement policies and procedures that ensure data is used and maintained properly; the activities in performing business process analysis, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and proposing solutions and plans to streamline; as well as contributing to the definition and implementation of data management processes that enable the optimal and secure use of data, while respecting compliance, privacy, confidentiality and security policies.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading the establishment, management, and maintenance of a scalable and operational data governance framework that leverages best practices, tools, and tactics in governing data ownership, management, classification, sharing, privacy and security.

Leading and facilitating the execution of a data governance strategic plan, that leverages the above-established data governance framework and incorporates a data governance implementation roadmap that includes strategic priorities for the ongoing maturation of data governance organizationally.

Facilitating the establishment and approval of data related policies and processes identified through the data governance strategic plan, working collaboratively with internal team and external teams (Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk & Compliance, Privacy, Audit, and Business areas).

Providing strategic guidance to data producers and users in understanding how to leverage data to its full potential for the benefit of enterprise and customers, within data governance perspective.

Defining indicators of performance and quality metrics, ensuring compliance with data-related policies, standards, regulations, roles, and responsibilities.

Ensuring that data governance best practices are applied to the data environment by conducting insightful data impact assessments that identify and record data risks, as well as consulting with leaders from external teams to build remediation strategies to reduce data risks.

**Leading and supervising the data governance team focused on**:

- Grow data literacy and data maturity across the organization through effective communication strategies and training to build core data proficiencies in data-related and business roles.
- Coordinate the identification of the business lines’ needs and opportunities related to the data in order to contribute to the definition of the strategic orientations of data governance.
- Coordinate, track, measure and report on the performance of the standards and practices deployed, including the evolution of data governance maturity.
- Contribute to a data governance framework implementation, to define, develop, operationalize and evolve standards, tools and best practices related to data quality and its enhancement.
- Create and bring concrete value from data governance concepts to the business sectors and reverse value.
- Collaborate with Business Stakeholders and IT to drive continuous improvement of our data management capabilities, practices, and outcomes to enhance both business performance and compliance levels over time through achievement of target information maturity model milestones.
- Establish and propose the recommendations on the use of data and compliance with applicable data frameworks in the context of strategic, cross-functional and innovative files that have a major impact on the organization's orientations.
- Develop standards, policies and procedures to support the creation and provide technical assurance for the on-going implementation of the data governance policy within the business.
- Develop and elaborate the business glossary with business Data Stewards and SMEs; determine data criticality in the context of identified business processes; Assess general data quality and identify data issues.
- Develop process improvements to enhance overall data quality.
- Develop rules and process to control the integrity (accuracy, thoroughness, process compliance) of all data within Data Platform and Big Data environment
- Determine root causes and business impacts of data quality issues; Assess existing data rules & responsibilities; Determine and prioritize data related risks with business Data Stewards and SMEs.

Establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with the stakeholders to ensure the governance, quality and integrity of BRP data.

Provide leadership and expertise to various stakeholders on BRP projects
