**Manager, Investor Relations / Corporate Communications**

The role of the Manager, Investor relations / Corporate Communications will initially be to support corporate activities related to Investor Relations, Communications and Business Development. Key stakeholders include financial regulators, shareholders, bankers and analysts, potential partners and employees. The position works closely with the CEO and Executive team and maintains a broad perspective on the business and all key developments within the company, ensuring the effective communication to appropriate constituents. Exceptional organizational skills, writing skills, Word & PowerPoint skills and familiarity with the Canadian and US securities regulatory landscape and general business development processes are required. Adept at key social media outlets and strong administrative and communication skills required, maintaining a high standard of care in terms of compliance for the company. Position reports to President & CFO with a dotted line to the Chief Business Officer.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Proactively and reactively engages with stockholders, potential investors, and sell-side analysts to disseminate company guidance, strategy, and messaging through normal course calls, meetings, investor conferences, and other events.
- Supports the process of quarterly/yearly financial results including creating content and messaging for 10K/10Qs, Earnings press release, Earnings call script, and Q&A document.
- Leads logistics, content creation, and execution for other special events and conference calls, including managing vendors to ensure the calls and events run smoothly.
- Regularly meets with various internal departments to ensure appropriate understanding of key internal milestones.
- Coordinates with leadership team to help craft company messaging for investors and external audiences.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all external communication channels including press releases, corporate presentation, website, social media etc.
- Creates and implements strategies for, and orchestrates the logistics of, non-deal roadshows, banking conferences, analyst-hosted, and company-sponsored events.
- Lead for relationships with investors and buy / sell side, IR vendors, and appropriately utilizes senior leadership as necessary to help craft and deliver messaging.
- Delivers messaging to all external parties consistently and in alignment with executive leadership’s strategy decisions.
- Generates investor target lists, creates background primers for meetings, takes detailed notes, and records all information to CRM system, etc.
- Create, publish, and update investor-focused collateral, including corporate presentation, publications/posters, Q&As and messaging documents, etc. and ensures appropriate executive review when necessary.
- Drafts investor focused news releases (Earnings and Financial Conference Participation) and ensures press release have appropriate executive sign off. Coordinates with Corporate Communications to ensure proper dissemination.
- Responsible for corporate website and all content; ensures messaging is consistent and in alignment with current corporate strategy.
- Manage the administration of the investor relations function including vendor/agency management, policies, procedures, compliance, planning, budgeting, and resourcing.
- Coordinates Business Development’s activities for partnering meetings
- Manages the Virtual Data Room for IR and BD activities
- Supports BD related intelligence activities including deal mapping, company mapping, etc,
- Participates in the creation of and manages BD based financial models
- Participates and manages the BD contact data base
- Assists in the preparation of BD presentation material and other related documents
- Handles special projects as requested.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in scientific discipline
- 3-5 years related communications experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent
- Strong understanding of capital markets and investor issues
- Possess a general understanding of the drug development process
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous follow-through
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, plan proactively, and accomplish goals using well-defined instructions and procedures in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Excel. MS Project experience an asset
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal skills
