**Position Summary**:
Under the direct supervision of the Youth Coordinator, the Youth Program Staff will join a team in a front-line role that is responsible for relationship-building and acting as a role model for youth within our drop-in programs. Our Youth Nights are a free drop-in program for youth aged 12-17 years of age participating in a variety of opportunities led by positive role models. You will use your strong communication skills to build positive relationships with the youth and will be required to respond calmly and effectively to incidents or crisis situations utilizing your knowledge in behaviour management, youth development, and conflict resolution.

The Youth Program Facilitator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to nurturing positive relationships and positive communications, planning, and delivering programs, maintaining program records, promoting safety, and dealing with incidents and sensitive issues.

Youth Program Staff requires a strong understanding of child and youth development, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and be able to work individually. They must also have strong organizational skills, be able to take initiative, and actively plan, lead, and participate in activities.

**Desired Qualifications**
- 2 years combined experience in a role involved with youth is considered an asset.
- The ability to work effectively with children and youth ages 12-30 years and has a solid understanding of the circumstances of youth in Fort Saskatchewan.
- Demonstrates creativity and innovation in working with youth.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Demonstrates good communication skills (both written and oral).
- Ability to exercise good judgement and sound decision-making.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week
