Thales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Our Rail Signalling and Communication systems are used on metro lines across major cities, and 72,000 kms of route, 52,000 trains per day in 16 countries are controlled by our Traffic Management Systems. Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.

The Associate Project Manager is responsible for the support for the project activities (including those relating to risks & opportunities) to reach completion of the project regarding its technical, contractual, financial, and customer satisfaction aspects.

For low criticality Work Packages, manage and coordinate internal and external dedicated.

The Associate Project Manager is expected to be autonomous and responsible in supporting the Project Manager run the project organization and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Project Manager in implementing and managing projects related to Urban Rail Signalling in accordance with contractual requirements and company processes. Contribute to overall performance/schedule compliance, cash flow and budget of the project while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Support the Project Manager in e valuating the need for “out of scope” work in-light of strategic project additional opportunities. Enforcing policies and procedures to ensure no unauthorized work is being conducted. Seek out and secure opportunities for variation orders to increase the project margin.
- Support evaluation and report on project “Estimates to Complete” in accordance with company practices thus providing clarity on cost exposures and future labour needs.
- Support review and input to the project register. For low criticality Work Packages, be accountable for decisions on expenditures of mitigation actions to support the most advantageous option for the company and project’s benefit and success.
- Display strong communications skills ensuring clarity with the project team and external stakeholders (eg customer, subcontractors etc.)
- Understand the project contract requirements for forecasting & reporting as required by the project to the customer.
- For low criticality Work Packages, lead the team to create an appropriately detailed schedule and then use that schedule and critical path to manage the execution of the project
- For low criticality Work Packages, e valuate the need for “out of scope” work in-light of strategic project additional opportunities. - For low criticality Work Packages work with Department Managers to review resource requirements (such as LFR, etc) and assist in managing and addressing cost overrun / underruns.
- For low criticality Work Packages, lead progress meetings and project reviews.
- For Low Criticality Work Packages, prepare and present progress report and associated KPIs

Key Requirements:

- Master degree or Bachelor degree
- 2 years of Project/Operational management experience.
- Knowledge of Project Management Processes, Team management, Coordination skills, Good communications skills, Negotiation skills, Risk Management

Preferred Qualifications:

- Good knowledge of railway products
- Ability to understand technical matters
- PMP/IPMA level D
