The Department of Justice and Public Safety is dedicated to the rule of law, the promotion of the public interest, and the impartial administration of justice and works to improve the safety, security and resiliency of communities and citizens.

The Department of Justice and Public Safety is seeking two individuals to join the Policy Branch, Technical Safety and Corporate Services Division as Policy Analysts working in Fredericton.

**What you will do**
- Preparing, providing analysis or advice and coordinating the development of departmental legislative and regulatory proposals including the preparation of "Memorandum to Executive Council"
- Preparing briefing notes and other reports as assigned
- Advising senior officials during Cabinet committee meetings and presentations to Caucus and the Standing Committee on Economic Policy
- Liaising with program staff, the Executive Council Office, and Legislative Services in the drafting of legislation and regulations
- Providing general regulatory, legislative, and policy advice and support to senior management and program staff
- Liaising with program staff and the Office of the Attorney General regarding legal opinion requests as required
- Consultation with departments, partners and stakeholders as required

**Work environment**
- Office location: Marysville Place 20 McGloin Street, Fredericton
- Office layout: cubicles
- Your Team: Small team of professionals providing various types of support to senior management and department officials
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30

**Need to have**

**Payband 6**:

- University graduation to the level of a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Criminology, Business Administration, Law, or related degree
- A minimum of 6 years of related work experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

**Payband 4**:

- University Degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Criminology, Business Administration, Law, or Related Degree
- A minimum of 4 years of related work experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

**Written and spoken competence in English is required, please state your language capability**

Pay Band 4: $2,077.00 to $2,905.00 bi-weekly, depending on your education and experience

Pay Band 6: $2,762.00 to $3,675.00 bi-weekly, depending on your education and experience
