**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director of Student Affairs and Engagement, the incumbent creates, develops and delivers current strategic career management programming in support of Sheridan at CCTT students. The incumbent delivers consultative services through working with clients on a one-on-one, small group and classroom workshop delivery. The incumbent offers guidance and resources in the delivery of focused employment strategies to meet the client’s short and long term employment objectives. The incumbent educates and guides clients through the job search strategy process and its components. Collaboration with faculty and other staff members is essential to the duties of this position.
**What You Will Be Doing**
- **Delivers the following one-on-one services and programs to Sheridan students and alumni**:_
- One-on-one consultations in personal marketing tools (cover letters, resumes, and portfolios)
- job search strategies
- employment and career management strategies
- employment research
- interview skills
- negotiation
- **Develops, maintains and delivers employment related programming in classroom workshops to prepare students for up-coming networking or career fairs, and/or for general job search activities, by**:_
- determining structure and content of workshop
- assessing and tailoring workshop content and delivery methods in order to meet the needs of a particular audience
- continuously improve workshop content through review and revision efforts
- **Initiates and maintains personal contacts with business and industry representatives in order to assist students with employment opportunities**:_
- Attend meeting with local employment agencies and supports
- Participating in local committees and associations in order to create needed relationships with potential partners and employers
- Schedules and visits potential and existing employers to identify and develop positions for students; and promotes the College’s service
- **Faculty relations and marketing of services to faculty, students and alumni by**:_
- developing and implementing marketing campaigns to students and faculty on Career Centre services and programs related to employment search
- Ensures faculty, students, and alumni have access to valuable employment search and management materials and tools
- **The incumbent is responsible for**:_
- researching and sourcing relevant materials and other educational resources for the Student Affairs web site
- developing new materials and up-dating existing materials for use in workshops, resource labs and web sites
- partnering with faculty members to develop materials in support of students with work integrated learning opportunities
- Creating and maintaining a Sheridan at CCTT job board focused on helping students find employment

**About You**
3 year diploma / degree or equivalent in Business, Humanities, Adult Education, Human Resources, Career and Work Counsellor Diploma.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a business environment including progressive responsibility in employment development, human resources, coaching and mentoring, employment recruitment, job placement, training, and employment consultation. Related experience which demonstrates an understanding of the barriers and issues experienced by job seekers. Excellent customer service, communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills. Knowledge of community services, labour market, occupational requirements and job search resources. Knowledge of career planning tools & resume critique approaches.
