Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities and Property, this position performs the necessary duties to ensure that assigned area(s) of responsibility is kept clean and safe at all times; assists in all aspects of work related to the day-to-day operations, including winter and summer maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities under the jurisdiction of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the maintenance of Town operated facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, emptying waste and recycle containers, dusting furniture, window blinds, sweeping and damp mopping resilient and hard floors, vacuuming carpeted areas and mats, cleaning glass, cleaning, sanitizing and polishing fixtures in washrooms and kitchens; spot cleaning walls, doors, partitions and other surfaces, refilling dispensers, cleaning and sanitizing lunch room tables, dust control of all floors, removing scuff and heel marks, cleaning windows as required, shampooing carpets as required, stripping, waxing and buffing hard surfaces as required, removing snow and ice from entrance ways, room set ups and tear downs.
- Assists with arena ice making and maintenance processes, including but not limited to, floods, edges, scrapes, and refrigeration equipment checks.
- Responds to public inquiries and complaints directing matters to appropriate personnel for resolution.

**Qualifications**:

- Requires a high school diploma.
- Must have a valid G class driver’s licence, and ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract upon hire.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
- ORFA Basic Refrigeration or equivalent preferred.
- Requires at least one (1) year’ experience in a similar position.
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, legible handwriting and ability to communicate with the public in a polite and diplomatic manner.
- Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.

**Salary**:$46,883.20 - $58,697.60 (2023 rates), plus employer paid benefits and OMERS pension plan
**Hours**: 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, shift work required
**Location**: New Tecumseth Recreation Centre (NTRC) and Alliston Memorial Arena (AMA)
**Start Date**: January 2023
