Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities & Property, this position performs all aspects of work related to the day to day operations, including winter and summer maintenance of municipal buildings and facilities under the jurisdiction of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.
**How you contribute to our organization**:
- Maintain the multi-plex spaces and other Town owned facilities including but not limited to the following:
- Repairs including carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical work and painting, replacing light bulbs
- Remove snow and ice from arena entrances, exits and walkways ensuring safety of self, fellow workers and members of the public.
- Ensure that all exits and entrances are kept clear of ice and snow at all times, spreads salt and sand on walkways.
- Ensure that the facility is opened and closed at the scheduled times.
- Clean and disinfect facilities including changerooms, washrooms, public areas and areas considered to be high touch, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained and aligned with established internal standard operating procedures.
- Ensure the orderly conduct of patrons using the Recreation Facilities.
- Ensure that change rooms/washrooms are stocked with supplies.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies and tools are properly maintained, stored and stocked.
- Participate in Arena Ice Making and Maintenance of Ice Surfaces
- Perform pool operations duties including opening and winterization, chemical balancing, cleaning and maintains records according to health legislation.
- Oversee facilities when rented providing service to the public who have rented it
**What you bring to the team**:
- Requires a high school diploma.
- Must have a valid G class driver’s licence, and ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract upon hire.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.
- ORFA Basic Refrigeration or equivalent
- ORFA Certified Pool Operator or equivalent
- Requires at least two (2) years’ experience in a similar position.
- Must have ability to provide a clean vulnerable sector check.
- Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.
**Wage**: $55,744.00 - $69,659.20, plus employer paid benefits and OMERS pension plan
**Hours**: up to 40 hours per week - Facility operations are 5:30 a.m. to 12 a.m., 7 days a week - shifts will vary
**Location**: Town Facilities and Arenas.
