**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:
- Works in SAP to set up capital, OMA and other specialized projects managed by Project
Delivery, including work breakdown structures (work packages and financial information) in
accordance with PPM practices, and to monitor costs, produce, analyze and interpret reports, and
to identify financial/cost issues using trend or other analysis for Project Manager, Work Package
Manager or Scheduler. Sets up projects in SAP as specified by the Scheduler or Project Manager.
Investigates and rectifies integration issues caused by SAP and troubleshoots system issues
within SAP by testing and investigating. Cross references data from SAP and Primavera
synchronization and integrity of the data between SAP and Primavera.
- Follows up on financial and accounting transactions related to invoicing, labour and accruals;
tracks status of equipment and material procurement, delivery and payment. Resolves identified
errors in processing, record-keeping or systems and ensures that corrections and adjustments are
made in SAP, Primavera or other project records. Utilizes Passport to verify charge codes, review,
investigate and ensure accounting. Reviews contracts for accrual process, dates, payment
requisitions. Prepares journal vouchers to correct inaccurate allocation of costs. May be required
to create Material Requests and report on contract statuses from the Supply Chain System. May
provide input to Contracts for approved changes to Contract Requisition to either extend dates
and/or increase dollar amount on the contract. May provide information for Purchase Requisition
submission to Procurement to initiate process for raising contract.
- Regularly meets with Project Manager, Work Package Manager and Scheduler and other
internal/external team members to discuss cost control issues and/or phase change, and to inform
of corrective action taken or required. Forecasts and updates SAP projects with the guidance of
WPM, Scheduler and Project Manager. Responds to queries and interprets financial or business
rules for WPM or Project Manager and advises of procedures and requirements involved in the
financial process.
- On a regular basis, identifies all project costs and variances. Reviews monthly tracking with the
Work Package Managers to ensure they are on target for their estimated spend. Updates monthly
status report for cost information to be reviewed by Project Manager, Work Package Manager
and/or Scheduler. Troubleshoots various questionable costs with financial analysts and other
applicable parties. May support the reporting requirements of projects by performing a variety of
duties such as preparing various project reports; monitoring project progress costs and advising
project and other managers of cost overruns and project cost deviations. Creates, manages and
controls status of project charge codes in SAP.
- Performs a variety of financial functions related to the management of capital, OMA and other
specialized projects by Project Delivery, such as: preparing materials to communicate variances to
the Work Package Managers and/or Scheduler; collecting relevant information to assist in the
revision of work package documents; researching Work Package/Network Activity/Network
Activity Element variance explanations with Finance and other key corporate groups; and
performing a variety of related financial calculations and activities.
- Performs a variety of support duties, such as: preparing correspondence; updating project
records and files; assembling a variety of project-related documentation; undertaking special
studies by gathering relevant information; and preparing related graphs and tabulations. Logs/
maintains change log in PPM Workspace. May provide information to assist WPM in preparing
change notice or to assist in preparation of Work Package Agreement.
- Files and retrieves project documents using SharePoint or other BC Hydro standard electronic
document management system in accordance with
management.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the
job.
