**PROFILE**

The Project Lead is a core member of our effective, highly dynamic, and creative team working closely with and taking advice from the qathet Division of Family Practice Board of Directors and qathet General Hospital Facility Engagement Steering Committee. Alongside the Executive Director and Facility Engagement Lead, Project Physician Lead(s), and the Projects Steering Committees, you will lead the overall direction, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for projects.

You have a passion for improving patient care and connectivity within the healthcare system through your strong skills in systems thinking and strategic project and partnership development. Your collaborative team leadership style with exceptional interpersonal communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills will be vital for leading the implementation, evaluation, quality improvement, risk management, and reporting to achieve the project's goals effectively. You will use your excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively work with and present information to all relevant stakeholders and support existing relationships with external partners. Your ability to present complex information and recommendations in simple, clear summaries, both verbally and in writing, will be used in this role. In this dynamic environment, you will utilize your excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet quick deadlines with quality output.

**BACKGROUND**

The qDoFP is part of a province-wide initiative designed to strengthen primary health care in BC. Operating as a non-profit society, the Division aims to increase primary health care capacity and to improve patient and population outcomes by developing and implementing programs and services that will positively impact family physicians and their patients.

The division works collaboratively with the community and health care partners to support physicians to practice, to sustain a robust community of physicians and to improve access to timely, appropriate, and coordinated care. The division was founded in 2010. Today, the division's membership includes 38 family physician, 13 specialists, and three nurse practitioners.

**WORK TERMS & HOURS**

This position is an evolving role with a need for some flexibility as demands will fluctuate from week to week, by season, and include some evening and early morning engagements. However, these fluctuations will be, to some extent, within the control of the employee, allowing limited other work responsibilities to be integrated with any given week. We anticipate the position to average 20-25 hours per week.

**TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE**

The employment rate will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in the range of $40 to $50 per hour. Travel and expenses are reimbursed. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Project Lead is the lead staff for one or more distinct projects, managing day-to-day operational aspects of the projects and scope in line with the pre-determined objectives. The Project Lead works independently, is a force for community building and action, and represents the interests of the Division and its members in all interactions. Accordingly, the Project Lead will provide and engage in a wide range of activities, including but not limited to:

- Complete all project plans and lead the implementation and evaluation through the effective engagement with Division members, staff, contractors, participating physicians, and community and Health Authority stakeholders;
- Monitor project progress and finances, recommend modifications of project plans or budget as needed, and lead any refinement process;
- Ensure delivery of the project is consistent with agreements, requirements, and goals and in compliance with Division policy and processes;
- Ensure comprehensive project evaluation by working closely with evaluation consultant to ensure thorough and timely collection and analysis of data and preparation of interim and final evaluation reports;
- Work with the Division staff to oversee and participate in the coordination, design, and facilitation of meetings;
- Develop and maintain relationships with partners, including local family doctors and specialists, representatives of the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, qathet Division of Family Practice, other project managers provincially, other service providers, agencies, or community groups in support of change, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify strategies and actively support leadership capacity of physician leads; and
- Deliver, model, and mentor in a wide range of change management skills and abilities.
