Safety and Training Coordinator

**About the Job**
Inland Industrial Supply Ltd., a leading distributor of safety tools and job site consumables for the industrial construction and fabricating market, is seeking a dedicated **Training and Safety Coordinator** to join our Human Resources team.
The Training and Safety Coordinator will implement and manage the organization’s comprehensive safety program. This role includes the review, evaluation, and monitoring of workplace safety hazards, and the development of proactive strategies to prevent, mitigate, and eliminate accidents and occupational injuries. In addition, this role provides support to the HR department through various general administrative tasks.
Some of the job duties include, but are not limited to:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Act as the primary Health and Safety contact for all employees.
- Ensure continuous implementation and improvement of existing Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)
- Support the company in achieving the Certificate of Recognition (COR).
- Coordinate and manage safety training, refreshers, and assessments.
- Maintain safety statistics, lead safety meetings, and conduct workplace audits and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, provide ongoing training, and manage safety documentation.
- Travel to other branches for safety-related tasks as needed.
- Plan, design, and deliver training sessions and programs, including new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Collaborate with HR and operations to develop and evaluate training initiatives.
- Promote and coordinate training programs across the organization.
- Provide support to the HR department as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently after two months and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- OHS Certificate or Diploma is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in HR or a related field.
- Industry experience in warehousing or distribution is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation.
- Proficient in MS Office and holds a valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
