As part of the Outreach & Engagement team, you will support a range of activities including, but not limited to community engagement, program development and delivery, strategy implementation, and more.

In this role, you will work to advance nature-based climate solutions, promote green infrastructure, and encourage climate-resilient buildings in Toronto. This position will participate in an evaluation of the Eco
- Roof Incentive Program and propose a strategy to improve program participation, increase program awareness and help further advance the implementation of eco-roofs in Toronto.

**Major Responsibilities**

In addition, the Project Lead:

- Conducts a review of the Eco-Roof Incentive Program, including but not limited to participant consultation, best practices research, market research, financial modelling, mapping, program administration, project eligibility, incentive structure and communication and marketing strategies.
- Conducts research on a range of new projects and initiatives, including, but not limited to nature-based climate action, biodiverse green roofs, urban agriculture on rooftops, with specific consideration of environmental/climate justice and equity.
- Identifies developments within the field, including initiatives by other levels of government, other municipalities and organizations, as well as emerging research and evidence-based advice from the academic community, and new developments from the roofing industry and green roof market.
- Acts as a resource person for communications and inquiries related to Divisional activities and programs, deliver presentations, facilitate requests originating from elected officials, other Divisions and the community.
- Oversees assigned projects, administers grant funding, and provides contract management, while monitoring project timelines and expenditures to ensure completion within approved work plans and budget limitations.
- Prepares reports and status updates for the senior management team, in addition to undertaking program evaluations including tracking and quantifying program impacts, making recommendations for ongoing program enhancements, and writing reports to Council.
- Works with project team members, support staff and trainees, ensuring effective teamwork, communication and high standards of work quality to advance the Divisions initiatives in a complex workplace, and provides work direction as needed.
- Researches, writes and designs audience-appropriate communications and promotional materials (e.g. newsletters, flyers, letters, web content, etc.).
- Plans, designs and delivers community engagement initiatives to encourage participation, seek feedback and build relationships.
- Supports the Unit with special events and related activities, including the coordination of community events, information sessions, meetings, training, attending functions/community events.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in environmental studies/policy/science, urban planning/studies, biodiversity conservation, biology, ecology, public/policy administration or a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Considerable experience in the design and delivery of public engagement and consultation programs, as well as working with community partners to implement project plans.
- Experience reviewing and evaluating programs, conducting research, analysis, interpreting large volumes of data, summarizing findings and making recommendations based on findings and stakeholder feedback.
- Knowledge of eco-roof benefits, green roof types and roof retrofits. Familiarity with behavioral change tactics, social marketing campaign strategies, as well as marketing and communication strategies for environmental incentive programs.
