Our  Engineering Design Organization  is looking for a proactive go-getter with a can-do attitude who thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fast-paced environment. As our  Electrical Project Lead  working out one of our  GTA offices  you will play an instrumental role on the Electrical team, leading and managing design projects involving traffic signals systems, street lighting and power distribution systems. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Being the technical lead for projects ranging from small to high profile, complex and multidiscipline involving traffic signalization and street lighting systems design, overseeing all aspects of the project If interested, the candidate can be involved in a wider spectrum of projects, including design of underground / overhead electrical distribution systems for residential, industrial and commercial developments, including new and rehabilitation sites. Performing and verification of electrical design and photometric calculations Preparation of detailed specifications and schedules of quantities Coordination and liaison with clients, approving authorities and outside design team members Providing direction to and coordination with internal designers/drafting team Technical review and quality control of design drawings Sealing of plans Preparation of proposals and fee estimates Control of project budgets and timelines for deliverables Project management  Mentoring of junior staff Conducting field investigations, inspections, assessments, etc.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

Degree in Electrical Engineering and is registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) Minimum 10 years' related experience Thorough knowledge of industry standards and design guidelines, including Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Guidelines for Understanding, Use and Implementation of Accessible Pedestrian Signals, Ontario Traffic Manual OTM Book 12 and 12A, IESNA RP 8 Roadway Lighting, TAC Guide for the Design of Roadway Lighting, Ontario Electrical Safety Code. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects. Aptitude for business development work Strong analytical skills Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work independently with minimal supervision. Solid experience with photometric modeling software Excellent computer skills and general proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD G class driver’s license
