**About this opportunity**

The EUIR TS RAN (Radio Access Network) System Management (RSM) team is responsible for RAN product definition, evolution, and Systems-level support. The broad range of responsibilities covers the RAN solution built from products in the Ericsson Radio System; including RAN compute central and distributed baseband units, radios, interconnect, and RAN functions to ensure that we have the SW and HW architectures vital to realize Ericsson's long term strategic direction.

We are looking for a Principal Developer in NG-OLLS system architecture domain with a proven background in mobile network system development to join us at the EUIR TS RSM RAN AI/ML and System Architecture section, based in Ottawa Canada.

The focus of the role is beyond the current execution programs, while understanding the existing products. The principal developer position role spans across standardization, early phases programs and programs looking years into the future to ensure that we are evolving NG-OLLS in a logical way with the steps taken today laying the foundation for the future. This principal developer will drive a journey plan spanning organizations, identifying key technical challenges, and creating solutions while communicating extensively and widely.

**What you will do**- Contribute to the RAN software architecture anatomy, which provides guidance for the execution program(s) when planning the scope and phasing the development and integration.- Cooperate with Product Management and across the RAN R&D organization for common understanding and alignment of software architecture development plans.- Drive system coordination for the purpose-built RAN architecture evolution, from early phases and opportunity analysis, including SP definitions, to pre-study completion.- Facilitate efficient architecture realization for long-term feature development and complexity mitigation.- Support Kanban masters and study drivers with technical guidance and provide help in addressing system complexity.- Support Area Product Owners understand dependencies and prioritize system work.- Guide, coach, and mentor colleagues on the different aspects of the domain.

**You will bring**- PhD / Masters degree or equivalent, with related work experience.- RAN system architecture design experience from early phases and/or OA phase.- Drive the system journey plan for evolving NG-OLLS in Ericsson’s portfolio towards the needs of emerging standards, the Future Network Platform (FNP), evolving portfolio, and target architecture. Ensure, the journey plan addresses industry demands for openness while delivering top performance and securing Ericsson ability to innovate.- Enable fact-based strategic and tactical decisions for NG-OLLS systemization and standardization by facilitating alignment and collaboration across technical domains.- Demonstrated ability in visualizing system anatomy.- Ability to work in teams. Experience working in multi-site, multi-cultural work groups.- Proven soft leadership skills, facilitating difficult discussions of altering viewpoints.- Ability to deal with uncertainty, handle stakeholder interaction, and take own initiatives when motivated to drive work forward.- Be a role model in demonstrating integrity, accountability, and professionalism and share expertise and knowledge with junior colleagues by providing mentorship.- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.- A positive attitude, in line with Ericsson core values and five focus areas.
