**About The Role**
As a Business Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our administrative and financial processes run smoothly. Reporting directly to the Administrator, your key responsibilities will include managing admissions and discharge paperwork for residents, assisting with handling complaints, discrepancies in accounts, and data entry related to resident payments such as the comfort fund or rent. You will also be responsible for supporting the office with accounts payable and receivable and helping to streamline office systems to improve efficiency. This casual on-call position provides flexibility and the opportunity to work closely with both residents and families, ensuring a positive experience.
Your responsibilities include:
- Processing admissions and discharge paperwork with residents and their families.
- Handling complaints and discrepancies in accounts.
- Maintaining and updating personal financial records of residents.
- Managing data entry of payments such as rent and the comfort fund.
- Performing accounts payable, receivable, and other financial functions as requested.
- Assisting in streamlining and improving office systems to enhance efficiency.
**Requirements**:
- Graduate of Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A minimum of three years of recent office administration experience, with a strong background in accounts payable.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage conflict and interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to operate office equipment and work collaboratively in a team environment.

**Compensation & Benefits**
We offer a competitive compensation package in accordance with the collective agreement featuring an hourly salary of $29.40. This casual on-call position provides flexibility, allowing you to balance work with personal commitments.
