**Job Title: Hospitality Practicum Coordinator**

**Main Responsibilities**:

- **Practicum Preparation and Coordination**:_
- Oversee the practicum component of the DHM and BHM programs, including the preparation and placement of students in industry work experiences.
- Collaborate with faculty, the Director of Hospitality Programs, and industry partners to align practicum opportunities with educational objectives and career goals.
- Ensure that students are adequately prepared for their practicums by organizing pre-placement orientation sessions and providing relevant information on expectations and guidelines.
- Work closely with Hospitality Placement Coordinator for the effective outcome of the process.
- **Workshops and Professional Development**:_
- Organize and conduct workshops on essential career skills, including resume writing, interview preparation, skill assessment, and soft skills development.
- Develop and deliver training programs that address the specific needs of students in both the DHM and BHM programs, ensuring they are equipped with the skills necessary for a successful practicum experience.
- Coordinate with external trainers or industry professionals as needed to enhance workshop content and delivery.
- **Student Support**:_
- Provide individualized support to students, addressing their needs and concerns related to practicums and professional development.
- Maintain regular communication with students to offer guidance, answer questions, and resolve any issues that arise during their industry work experiences.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them succeed in their practicums.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:_
- Maintain detailed records of each student’s practicum package.
- Prepare and submit reports on the overall effectiveness of the practicum program and student outcomes to the Director of Hospitality Programs.
- Ensure that all practicum activities comply with relevant regulations and institutional policies.
- **Campus Coordination**:_
- Support and engage with students at WCC campuses, ensuring consistent and effective practicum management across locations.
- Collaborate with campus-specific teams to address any campus-related issues or needs related to the practicum program.
- **Networking and Industry Relations**:_
- Build and maintain relationships with industry partners and potential host organizations to expand placement opportunities for students.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continually enhance the practicum program and related workshops.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or related.
- 3-5 years of related work experience in a post-secondary environment and/or in the Hospitality Industry in BC.

- Strong ability to design and deliver professional development workshops.
- Experience in supporting students in a post-secondary environment.
- Understanding of the hospitality industry and current labor market conditions.

Working Conditions:

- Ability to travel between Scott Road and CC3 campuses as needed.
- Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules for workshops and student support.

Location: Surrey Campus

Annual Salary: $52,000 - $55,000

Pay: $52,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
