**JOB OVERVIEW**

Reporting to the VP, Advocacy, the Advocacy Coordinator is an integral part of the Advocacy team, expected to work collaboratively within the department and across the organization. The Coordinator, Advocacy supports all components of advocacy initiatives, including team administration, stakeholder outreach, and community engagement as they relate to cancer prevention and support for people living with cancer and their families.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:

- Meeting coordination (both internal and external), including minute taking for all department teams
- Campaign coordination: copying, copy editing, creating labels and mailouts to support campaigns
- Event coordination:

- Coordinating volunteer schedules
- Coordinating staff and volunteer travel
- Overseeing volunteer reimbursements
- Stakeholder outreach
- File Management (oversight of SharePoint)
- Fiscal note support
- Assist the Vice President, Advocacy with the following responsibilities including Scheduling, flight and travel booking, expense claims, conference, event registrations, and finance reconciliations.
- Actively contribute to our culture of justice, belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring that all staff feel represented and heard regardless of their gender, age, religion, ethnicity, and nationality or race.
- Other administrative duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-secondary education, preferably in public administration, health promotion, political science or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Flexibility, ability to deal with competing priorities
- Superior communication skills particularly with writing, editing and proof reading
- Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work independently and as a team player
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment skills with a customer focus
- Analytical skills to identify and respond to emerging issues/opportunities
- Computer literate, proficient in MSOffice (Word/Excel) and PowerPoint
- Experience with a multi-level non-profit or community health organization is an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset
