**Overview**:
The Coordinator, Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) will oversee the implementation, coordination, administration and oversight of Richmond’s BSCF-funded programs. In addition, this role will support the preparation and maintenance of the programs’ budget records, process invoices, assist with procurement, and prepare BSCF progress reports. The BSCF programs will be delivered in community centers, the Youth Media Lab, local community organizations and other key locations. The Coordinator, BSCF will be required to travel within Richmond to set-up and oversee youth-related programs outside of business hours and on weekends. This is a temporary full-time position and reports to the Manager, Community Safety Policy and Programs.

**Examples of key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Facilitate, coordinate and deliver BSCF programs, presentations and campaigns under the Richmond BSCF Strategic Plan in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.
- Oversee the BSCF programs’ operations and performance to ensure they meet the service levels and funding standards. Make recommendations and take steps to ratify non-compliances.
- Administer programs during the implementation phase, audit and report on the progress of the BSCF programs, and monitor costs of the BSCF programs.
- Establish initial program requirements, including identifying resources required for the project.
- Support the Manager and Program Manager with budget reports and other program expenses and budget-related matters by cost-tracking, assessing and processes expenses.
- Identify and implement methods and metrics to track performance indicators of the BSCF programs.
- Establish and implement communication plans and campaigns, which includes providing, preparing and circulating program materials to stakeholders; working with staff to develop webpage(s) for the initiative; maintain and update webpages; and other related duties.
- Coordinate, compile, review and report on feedback from program participants, stakeholders, staff and the public on a regular basis.
- Conduct on-site program assessments to ensure compliance with funding contractual terms and with City regulations. Make recommendations and take steps to ratify non-compliances.
- Support and collaborate with the Program Manager and consultants on project roadmaps and project plans, communication plans and progress reporting.
- Reconcile financial reports and non-financial reporting pursuant to the BSCF’s federal grant requirements and contracts.
- Maintain, track and update project budget and expenses, including billings, payments, and other financial transactions pertaining to the expenditures of the programs.
- Create and complete purchase orders, and process and track accounts receivables and accounts payables.
- Develop and maintain a system to maintain records and documents related to the programs, stakeholders, consultants.
- Respond to and resolve cost recovery inquiries from staff, local community partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Provide support with compiling detailed quarterly progress reports for the Federal government.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Skill in the operation of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working collaboratively with other levels of government, community members and organizations.
- Proven ability in the implementation of programs and the ability to set priorities for concurrent programs.
- Demonstrated ability to create project plans and establish project timelines to successfully launch programs.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and tactfully while maintaining cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
- Must be able to plan, prepare and maintain reports, records, correspondence and various other materials.
- Support the development and implementation of communication campaigns, engagements and other functions as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Completion of a two-year diploma or certificate program in business administration, finance, or related discipline.
