Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka is a registered charity that provides mental health and psychosocial supports to persons impacted by cancer through individual psychotherapy, support groups, therapeutic recreational programming and community social events. Our mission is to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.

We are expanding our **clinical programing** and are recruiting for a new Program Facilitator to join our team, reporting to both the Program Director and Clinical Director. The Program Facilitator is responsible for playing a critical role in the development and implementation of our adult programming with an emphasis on the facilitation of individual and group psychotherapy and other programming.

**Position Overview**

The Program Facilitator, in reporting to the Clinical Director and Program Director, is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of Gilda’s Club Simcoe Muskoka’s adult programming and its related day-to-day operations

**Facilitation of Individual and Group Counselling Services and Psychosocial Programming**
- Provide brief service individual and group counselling services to persons impacted by cancer (cancer diagnosis, friend/family member of someone with cancer or someone bereaved from a cancer related loss)
- Participate in the development and on-going improvement of Gilda’s Club programming
- Provide resources and clinical referrals as appropriate
- In collaboration with the Program Director and Volunteer Coordinator, support the role of volunteers within the Gilda’s Club community,
- In conjunction with the Clinical Director and Program Director, assist in the development, production and distribution of Gilda’s Club Program Calendar
- Support the administrative needs of the program team and operation of the Clubhouse
- Must be flexible in work hours, this role will require work outside of the standard work hours, specifically evenings and weekends
- **Masters of Social Work** or Psychotherapy/counselling from an accredited university or equivalent experience other comparable mental health program
- Experience providing individual counselling services
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work respectfully and collaboratively in a dynamic, multi-faceted team environment and independently
- Willingness to support BSW & MSW students in their practicum placements
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Competency in trauma informed, anti-oppressive and anti-racist practice
- Knowledge of local community and cancer support services
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new systems
- Availability to work a modified schedule into evening hours and some weekends as the program schedule dictates.
- A vulnerable sector security check is required as part of the hiring process
- Must be registered at the time of their start date, and that their registration must be in good standing with their respective professional college

**The following are considered assets**:

- Support group facilitation experience
- Experience or interest in couples and/or family counselling
- Experience or training in psychosocial oncology
- Fully vaccinated status preferred
- Post-graduate training/certification in evidence based mental health approaches
