**Job Description**:
**AECOM **Architecture team are seeking an Architectural Specification Writer with knowledge of technical buildings and building science to be based in Edmonton, AB.

Job Summary:
The individual needs to be able to recommend product solutions and have a good working knowledge of construction materials and techniques. The individual must be a good communicator and able to have high level discussions with both senior staff and clients.
The applicant will need to demonstrate good working skills, the ability to interact with the teams in multiple offices.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- The applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to review CADD and PDF files for system design analysis and office quality control standards
- The applicant must have knowledge of LEED and be aware of other sustainability measurement methods
- The applicant must be a team player and be able to supervise and assist staff in the preparation of contract documents
- The applicant must be able to assist other disciplines in formatting and assembling contract specifications

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Bachelor's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid driver's license

**Preferred Requirements**:

- 9+ years of experience in specification writing
- Must have good working knowledge of building science
- Must have a good working knowledge of recent contract law as it applies to construction
- Must have knowledge of specification formats - Masterformat, Uniformat and narrative approaches
- Must have adequate computer skills in MS office software
- Must be able to work in both Markham and Whitby offices as required
- Can also provide services to Richmond Hill, Mississauga and Kitchener offices
