**PROCUREMENT DESK OFFICER position, in charge of the**

Osservatorio Gare e Appalti (Procurement Desk) **at its MONTREAL OFFICE**

The Analyst will support ITA in assisting Italian companies interested in bidding for contracts for the provision of goods, services and works, within the Canadian marketplace.

More specifically, the objective of the Osservatorio Gare e Appalti (Procurement Desk) is to promote and support the participation of Italian companies in the Canadian tendering and procurement system, both by public and private entities, through a series of targeted activities of monitoring, analysis and reporting of the main opportunities existing in Canada. The Desk aims to become a key point of contact and an essential information and competence center for Italian companies wishing to participate in Canadian tenders. To ensure effective monitoring of business opportunities, the Desk will rely not only on direct interaction with contracting authorities but also on specific resources such as specialized databases, sectoral studies and the participation in webinars, conferences, networking events that will allow it to provide relevant input and analysis.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

As part of the temporary contract, the activities, and responsibilities for the position shall be (but will not be limited to) the following.
- Map the main contracting authorities in Canada at different territorial levelstogether with related procedures and information sources
- Build a network of relationships with both public and private counterparts in Canada and Italy, useful to Italian companies to present a successful offer
- Disseminate to Italian companies, through multiple channels, the business opportunities deriving from Canadian public procurement
- Organize and accompany a business trip to Italy for Canadian delegates, selected on the basis of the opportunities identified during the monitoring activities, for business meetings.
- General office and administrative work in connection with the organization of promotional activities and events
- Processing of service requests from Italian companies
- Communication with third parties and involved agencies
- Production of marketing content and materials
- Update of databases.

All activities required of the Analyst will be pertinent to the specific project, described above.

The Officer will work in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and its Consular Offices in Canada to facilitate relations with public administrations. The Officer will travel on a regular basis to several destinations within Canada.

**Requirements**:

- Education_
- University Degree, preferably in a relevant discipline, such as Marketing, Business Administration, Public Policy, Communication (non exhaustive list)
- Language_
- Proficiency in English, French and Italian (reading, writing and speaking)
- Experience_
- A minimum of two years’ experience in marketing and/or communication and/or procurement management
- Additional skills and requirements_
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Meticulous work ethic with attention to detail
- Proven ability to plan, execute and report medium term work programs
- Professional appearance and demeanor.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada, i.e. be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Residency status in Canada. The Italian Trade Commission will not sponsor any employees directly or indirectly.

**Salary and Compensation**

The position is temporary and full-time, i.e. 35 hours a week in presence at ITC’s office in Montréal.

Salary and compensation will be commensurate with experience and up to 4,700 cad per month, with an end of contract bonus of up to a month’s salary per year worked, depending on performance.

The first temporary contract will last until June 30th, 2024. The ITC might renew it or not, depending on performance and availability of funds. This assignment does not constitute a basis for an open-ended hire and it is project based.
