**About Us**
CRC Research, established in 2001, has offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Its Qualitative Division has a strong presence in healthcare research, and its moderators conduct in-depth interviews with physicians and other healthcare professionals both in-person and online, and with individuals or in a group setting. The scope of work is varied, but can include helping pharmaceutical companies to develop strategies to effectively communicate clinical trial data to physicians, and to develop marketing and support materials to physicians and patients. These materials can range from technical data to creative concepts and magazine ads.
Self-management, flexible work hours, and an ability to travel are key.
**Research Associate, Moderator Job Description**:
- **Conducting focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnographic sessions with physicians, patients and caregivers via on-line platforms or in a market research facility
- Writing respondent screening materials, discussion guides and top-line or full summary reports
- Research analysis (listening to, collating results and providing summaries) of other moderator’s market research. This could form a significant portion of incumbent’s first year of work - depending on individual’s level of experience coming into the role
- Debriefing with clients on insights gleaned through in-depth interviews
- Crafting and presenting research findings (top line or full summary reports) to client teams, in-person or remotely
- Committing to the requisite amount of project preparation prior to initiating a new project (studying background of the therapy area; understanding disease state and current treatment; being able to correctly pronounce all brand and generic drug names)
- Play a leadership role on a cross-functional team; collaborate with the project management team, account directors, facility managers and respondent recruiters, to ensure all aspects of the project run smoothly
- Provide full availabilities to the Project Management team and be willing to work flexible hours (from early morning to late evening) on research days. Understand the high cost stakes of market research, and to never miss or be late for a scheduled interview.
- Adhere to Adverse Event training and reporting requirements for Healthcare research
**Job Requirements**
- Bilingual French/English
- Advanced level of education essential. Background in science and/or healthcare would be preferable (biology, chemistry, pharmacology, psychology, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, particularly written (for authoring of reports, distilling research insights and presenting research findings)
- Excellent listening skills
- An ability to quickly establish rapport with a stranger
- A genuinely curious nature, and a sincere desire to understand how/why people think, feel and act the way they do
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively work in teams
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Experience and/or education in market research a benefit, but not required. Willing to train the right individual
- Ability to succinctly and visually represent key insights in PowerPoint
