**Description**:
Under the direction of Talent Acquisition Specialist and Assistant Director, Learning and Leadership Development, the HR Assistant, Talent provides a broad range of support in regards to project initiatives impacting HR practices and policies across the University.

Projects include the following: (a) Organize and participate in community engagement initiatives to promote UofT as an employer of choice and use the feedback from events to inform our recruitment strategy; (b) Provide support to recruitment teams for job postings, resume screening, phone screening, interview preparation;(c) Assist in analyzing the Centre for Learning, Leadership & Culture's learning offerings and refreshing/updating the Learning Management System course descriptions and minor course updates as required; (d) Conduct a detailed scan of the University’s recognition programming at both the Institutional and Divisional level to gather data on if equity, diversity, and inclusion have been embedded into award programs and gauge interest in onboarding award programs onto the Institutional Recognition Platform; and (e) Coordinate and support Divisional and Institutional engagement events to promote UofT’s culture of appreciation.

The HR Assistant, Talent will assist with and advance projects, and undertake initiatives and daily activities within the Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture that require knowledge of confidential information impacting staff in all employee groups. The role of the HR Assistant, Talent will continue to evolve and the individual must be willing to respond to the given priorities of the day and be willing to work cooperatively in a challenging and dynamic environment.

**Qualifications Required**:
**Education**:
University degree with some postsecondary education in human resources management preferred, or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Experience**:
Minimum six (6) months of experience working with and interpreting HR policies, procedures and processes, an asset. Some exposure to adult learning theory and instructional design.

**Skills**:
Computer skills including intermediate to advanced skills in spreadsheet, database and word processing software, instructional design software (e.g. Articulate) and learning management systems. Advanced research skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

**Other**:
Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to handle confidential information, demonstrating tact, diplomacy and judgement. Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships, especially during difficult situations such as a strike. Strong customer service orientation. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
