The City of St. Albert is conducting a Municipal Census from May 6 to June 27, 2024, to gather population and demographic information. The census data helps the City identify upcoming needs in different areas as well as enhance existing programs and services. It provides essential information for planning transportation, schools, utilities, roads, emergency services, recreational facilities, and economic development. The results also help secure provincial and federal grants that are awarded based on population count and play an important role in supporting funding projects.

While the census will be conducted online, a door-to-door enumeration of the community will be required for those that could not complete the online census. The door-to-door enumeration will begin May 27, 2024 and finish on or before June 27, 2024.

**The Opportunity**

The Quality Assurance Coordinator will play a key role in the census by ensuring the quality of the data collected (as per provincial government guidelines) is accurate by connecting with residents by conducting random telephone and door-to-door quality assurance checks. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will advise Area Supervisors with regard to their findings as the door-to-door census progresses. The Coordinator will also ensure that census data collected is handled in a secure and confidential manner and will be the main liaison between the Area Supervisor and the census data vendor.

It is expected that 75% of the time the Quality Assurance Coordinator will be making phone calls or checking software entries, with the other 25% of the time spent conducting door-to-door quality assurance checks. There may be additional opportunities to assist with census troubleshooting via telephone with residents.

**Qualifications**
- Previous census experience is preferred.
- Basic iPad/computer skills.
- Comfort with learning and utilizing new software.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Professionalism, excellent organizational skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Accuracy and acute attention to detail.
- Able to provide own transportation to sites.
- Possible use of personal cell phone to communicate with Census or City staff.
- You must be available to attend mandatory training sessions on May 6 and May 13, 2024.
- Physically capable of walking and/or climbing stairs.

**Hours of Work**

Hours of work are variable, but telephone and door-to-door canvassing for quality assurance must occur during enumeration hours.

Enumeration hours will fall within 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 11 noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

**Compensation**
- The Quality Assurance Coordinator can anticipate earning approximately $1,500.00, which is dependent on the number of quality assurance checks completed.
- Bonuses for performance targets are available (more detail will be provided in your Offer letter).
