**What you can achieve**:

- Assess project requirements by collaborating with the Project Lead and/or Mechanical Engineer/Designer by reviewing the client’s specifications and drawings.
- Create details, assemble electrical drawings, outline and perform testing procedures based on the assessment of the project requirements through the use of software; adhering to all safety requirements throughout the design of the product and highlighting all the safety guidelines for the project team.
- When building upon an existing product, visit client sites with the Project Lead to understand how the new requirements will interact with the existing product.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Head of Engineering, Mechanical Engineer and/or Designer to assess and determine the most efficient and cost-effective method of constructing the product.
- Follow and meet the project road map and milestones to ensure the project is delivered to the client within the agreed upon deadline; communicating openly with the Project Lead when concerns arise regarding the achievement of the milestones.
- Address any problems, or potential problems, with the Head of Engineering along with potential solutions/options.
- Research and identify the most suitable and cost-effective material required to meet the project requirements and bring forward the Bill of Material (BOM) to the Manager for approval.
- Liaise with the company’s various suppliers to gather additional information regarding material/components or exploring other material options that are more cost-effective or more suitable to achieve the product’s functionality requirements.
- Draft electrical schematics drawing (drawings) to capture all elements and material requirements to assemble/ wire the product; reviewing the drawings with the Project Lead to confirm all aspect of the project has been included for the Manager’s approval.
- Collaborate with the Project Lead to update the drawings to reflect the client’s feedback; resubmitting the drawings for the client’s approval once approved.
- Communicate various instructions to the Technician Team in a clear and concise manner so they have a solid understanding of how to assemble the product, while providing additional clarification throughout the assembly process when needed.
- Develop controls programs for machine/product logic control, PLC, HMI, PC and other auxiliary components
- Trouble shoot any production and/or testing issues/challenges that are related to the functionality and material of the product.
- Support the sales team, when requested, for sales meetings with current and/or potential clients. Support in line with other responsibilities.
- Participate in the installation of the product on the client sites; trouble shooting and addressing electrical issues/concerns during and after the installation of the product.
- Familiarize and maintain up to date knowledge of local safety and electrical standards.
- Familiarize and maintain working knowledge in using company software and hardware.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

- A post-secondary education in a technical or an engineering discipline.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a similar position and industry.
- Demonstrated experience using Office Suite, Electrical Design Software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals (specifications and codes), design principles and codes.
- Experience in developing and designing packaging machinery, robotic based automation cells, conveyor systems is considered an asset.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to quality, accuracy and detail oriented.
- A proven ability to work under and achieve tight deadlines.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to understand and translate complex technical information into easy to read user documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with others coupled with demonstrated experience of being a team player.
- Able to travel to client’s sites.
