**Building Automation System Specialist**

As a BAS Specialist, you will be providing customer service for existing BAS monitoring contracts and visiting multi-residential and high-rise buildings mechanical rooms across GTA to install, fix and troubleshoot HVAC related automation systems.

Aris Building Technologies has hundreds of active 24/7 BAS monitoring contracts. All new BAS systems are using the Niagara 4 framework. Legacy systems include reliable controls and KMC. Niagara 4 certification is a requirement for this position.

Salary Range: 60-80k commensurate with experience

**Job Description**:

- Assist an electrician and follow instructions.
- Install, repair, and maintain various electrical and automation systems and equipment such as sensors, contactors, relays, controllers, etc.
- Program and commission DDC systems
- Follow safety codes and building regulations
- Provide technical service and support to existing building control systems at customer sites
- Handle customer service calls and respond to customer requirements
- On-call monitoring support outside of regular business hours
- Prepare quotations for specific projects and / or services
- Create documentation of the estimates prepared, including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions & exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor pricing, points list, etc.
- Design and/or configure total BAS systems technical specification
- Review customer sites, appraise existing systems, and recommend improvements
- Prepare layout and installation drawings; change control panels; perform software changes
- Order / purchase material from vendors and ensure on-time deliveries to appropriate location
- Perform software programming, configure operator workstations and all specified software
- Calibrate systems, and generate accurate information and documentation for each site
- Provide technical and operational training to customer’s Technicians & Operators
- Perform Service or Install jobs, including engineering, drawings, programming, documentation, installation, coordinating with sub-contractors, start-up, testing and customer acceptance
- Perform scheduled service maintenance work
- Record the most frequent problems and solutions, and look for specific trends
- Handle customer feedback, including service reports
- Write up service reports for invoicing by Office staff
- Diagnose and perform repairs in a time effective manner
- Keep abreast of changes and new developments in product and energy savings technologies
- Ability to independently generate and close complete BAS Systems, Service and Support Programs
- Identify prospects and follow up on leads and referrals. Establish good level of customer rapport and identify specific needs. Develop and maintain a healthy backlog of quotes to assure booking goals are consistently met
- Qualify prospects, create and deliver effective sales presentations, address questions and overcome all objections in a proficient manner. Manage quotes to close sales
- Survey and appraise HVAC and Control Systems to determine replacement, repair, modification, maintenance, and technical support requirements. Read and interpret drawings, equipment, and job conditions. Develop pricing (cost estimates and proposals) and adhere to our company’s pricing policies
- Have strong understanding of HVAC Control Systems to accurately appraise systems components, evaluate general conditions, and recommend the best system or technical support program
- Develop good understanding of the prospect’s organization and decision-making hierarchy and process. As much as possible, commit the prospect to a decision making structure and timetable
- Encourage clear and productive working relationships with customers, vendors and other outside services

**Requirements**:

- Fundamental understanding of HVAC systems in multi-residential buildings.
- Fundamental understanding of networking such as WAN/LAN, Port forwarding, Router configuration and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of various DDC systems, sensors, control equipment such as relays, contactors, signal converters, etc.
- Previous hands on experience in the building automation industry
- Niagara 4 certification.
- Familiar with Building Automation Controllers such as KMC, Reliable Controls and Niagara 4 platform Controllers such as Jace-8000 and iSMA-MAC36
- Have valid G driver’s license
