South Island Wellness Society (SIWS) is looking for their next Collaborative Facilitator. Here at

SIWS, we use traditional decision-making processes to facilitate community-based collaborative planning for Aboriginal families who require support in addressing concerns about the care of their children.

**Overview of Position**

The Collaborative Facilitators primary focus is to facilitate collaborative meetings with First Nations and Urban Indigenous communities. This may include but not limited to family case planning conferences, family group conferences, cultural connection plans, permanency plans and youth transition conferences. The Collaborative Facilitator will work directly with Indigenous families and other social services "service providers" to develop plans..

**Preference will be given to applicants of First Nations ancestry as per Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, please self-identify.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Works collaboratively with service **Strong interpersonal skills providers to develop plans to address ** Conflict resolution skills an asset child safety concerns for Indigenous **Familiarity with Genogram/Family tree children, youth and family an asset**:

- Facilitate collaborative meetings that Able to work independently is child centered and family focused **Strong team player**:

- **Maintain electronic client files Must be familiar with Indigenous**:

- **Must be efficient in Word and Excel history, customs and practices**:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or Diploma in Social Services, or related discipline and 2- 4 years' experience in delivery of Social Services associated with Child and Family Services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Facilitation experience required
- Knowledge of Child and Family Services Legislation or the ability to develop this understanding quickly
- Experience working in Indigenous communities

**Starting Salary: $45,000**
