**Description**:

The **Communications Manager** is responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies, processes, and activities at the College, including researching, planning, managing, monitoring, and measuring the impact of communications and other related functions.

The Manager reports to the Director of Recruitment, Admissions, and Marketing (RAM).

The working schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (35 hours per week). Four days are on campus, and one day is performed remotely.

**Knowledge and Skills**:
**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Minimum of five years of experience at a management level in communications.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with communications theory, strategies, practices, and techniques.
- Established professional credibility as evidenced by a degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical and collaborative behaviours consistent with the responsibilities of this position.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The **Communications Manager** is accountable for the following:

- Developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies for the College that increase brand awareness and recognition of the College’s commitment to international students and leadership in higher education in BC.
- Creating a plan to design and develop a new website for the College.
- Conducting ongoing research, such as scans, audits, or surveys, of the College’s communications touchpoints with students and the community, to evaluate and improve their effectiveness.
- Collaborating with the Director of RAM, as well as other College partners, to develop communications for prospective students and applicants.
- Working closely with the Executive Director of the Institute for Equity and Advancement to develop communication strategies to enhance the Institute’s brand and presence.
- Identifying strategies to establish a media presence that recognizes, acknowledges, and promotes Columbia College’s commitment to excellence in international education.
- Developing a Media Plan and College-wide communication standards, guidelines and frameworks and support their implementation throughout the College.
- Overseeing, monitoring and evaluating daily College-wide communications activities.
- Collaborating with administrators and faculty on the development of key messages and talking points.
- Developing content strategies and facilitating ongoing management of the college-wide intranet, social media accounts and digital display screens.
- Acting as a resource for crisis
