**The Opportunity**
RAM Iron & Metal is looking for an experienced Human Resources Specialist for our Corporate location to join our Team. The Human Resources Specialist, under the direction of the Human Resources Director, will primarily be responsible to maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records. This position will monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes. This role will also advise employees and managers on the interpretation of human resources policies and benefit programs. The Human Resources Specialist must possess degree or diploma in a related field and certified human resources professional (chrp).

**Principal Accountabilities**:
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records
- Monitor human resources related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance to business processes
- Advise employees and managers on the interpretation of human resources policies and benefit programs
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment and occupational health and safety legislation
- Draft memoranda, correspondence, job descriptions, and other employment documentation
- Check prospective employee references
- Implement employee/personnel programs, including skills development training and health and safety programs
- Maintain human resources information and related records systems in compliance with applicable legislation
- Stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices; recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance; and adopt best practices where feasible
- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills
- Conduct exit interviews with resigning employees to gain a more in-depth understanding as to why they are resigning
- Set up all new hires in ADP for processing bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees
- Compile employee data such as vacation and paid personal time, benefits audits and reconciliations
- Develop and implement recruitment campaigns for target audience, including partnerships with trade schools, high school, local post secondary schools to rive the talent
- Develop, drive, organize and publicize company social events
- Gather, research, and prepare recruitment activity as it relates to the competition
- Assess posting characteristics to promote all RAM recruitment campaigns channel and casting widest net or direct target searches
- Conduct employee surveys to identify the interests and concerns of employees
- Aid in promoting HR branding initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives
- Prepare and deliver HR training programs through HR Downloads, book eternal training courses as required by occupation requirements
- Prepare, review, and/or edit various forms of correspondence for executive or management such as letters, documents, invoices, presentations, publications, and reports
- Act as a first point of contact for Human Resources
- Assist in the compilation of data for various reports
- Coordinate the logístical aspects of departmental programs such as meetings, seminars, workshops, special projects, and events
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions
- Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders
- Schedule and confirm appointments, interviews for management team
- Act as the auditor for the time and attendance for all departments, master approver ensure all comment and notes are included for attendance tracking prior to delegating to payroll
- Provide ADP/HRdownload, Canada Life technical advice and assistance to employees
