BC Ferries is seeking a highly motivated, safety focused Trades Supervisor - Uplands to support, supervise and coordinate activities comprising a variety of trades primarily engaged in the repair and preventative maintenance of buildings and grounds as well as other assets and special projects as required. You will schedule labour resources ensuring safe work practices and efficiency in meeting established work schedules and deadlines. You will coordinate with Managers, Project Leaders and Supervisors to organize and ensure appropriate resource allocation and communication of work plans and information throughout work groups. You will supervise the activities of tradespersons, helpers, laborers, contractors and other employees engaged in repairing and fabricating activities, perform metal fabrication as required, and work inspections to ensure company standards are consistently met.
You are a leader driven to achieve outstanding results, while ensuring a culture of safety, quality and efficiency. You are a self-starter who promotes teamwork, open communications, and positive interactions, while providing coaching, mentoring and motivation in support of individual performance objectives.
You have a thorough understanding of Industry standards, WCB regulations and safe work practices. You possess a Red Seal in one of the trades directly supervised and sufficient supervisory experience to meet the requirements of this position. You have a minimum 5 years’ experience as a journeyman in one of the trades directly supervised. You possess a valid BC Driver’s License.
