**Machinist Job Description**

Seeking a skilled Machinist to operate manual and CNC equipment, perform mechanical disassembly/assembly, and troubleshoot industrial equipment in a machine shop environment.

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Operate manual and CNC equipment to achieve precise dimensions on finished parts
* Perform mechanical disassembly/assembly to repair equipment
* Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, boring mills, and line boring equipment
* Follow procedures to achieve precise dimensions in accordance with specifications
* Read and interpret drawings, technical documentation, and verbal instructions
* Use precision measuring tools to determine machining processes and sequence of operations
* Calculate cutting speeds, hole layouts, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements
* Complete required documentation and clean and maintain equipment

**Requirements:**

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
* Red Seal Journeyman Machinist trade certificate an asset
* Experience operating manual machines in a job shop environment as an asset
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
* Ability to manage complex machining tasks with a high level of productivity and accuracy
* Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures, including safety
* Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public
* Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required

**Work Conditions:**

* Manual machining and custom repair work environment
* Occasional requirement to go on board marine vessels and to customer sites
* Safety equipment provided, including steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, coveralls, hi-vis vest, hardhat, glasses, and gloves
* Regularly perform repetitive tasks
* Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
* Will be required to occasionally work outdoors in the elements
