This position reports directly to the manager. The Logistics Assistant will assist the Operations and Regulatory Manager and the Distribution Supervisor with the day-to-day activities. Moreover, he / she will be responsible for various reporting mechanisms and assisting operational staff with various duties. He / she will assist in the supply process and procurement to meet all needs and assist the Operations and Regulatory Manager regarding Health and Safety, and Quality manuals.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

1.1. Creating bill of ladings for deliveries.

1.2. Assist the Operations Department with creation of daily reporting mechanisms for the operations staff.

1.3. Review all completed reporting mechanisms for the prior day to ensure accuracy for operational and accounting purposes.

1.4. Ensure document control and record retention for completed reporting mechanisms and various other documents are maintained.

2. OPERATIONAL DUTIES

2.1. Provide support with dispatch activities when the Distribution Supervisor is absent or on vacation.

2.2. Assist the Operations and Regulatory Manager with his / her day-to-day activities;
2.3. Assist the Distribution Supervisor with his / her day to day activities;
2.4. Complete weekly and monthly documents for use by operational staff;
3. PURCHASING

3.1. Creation of purchase orders for the supply process and procurement of all products and services required by Operations, in compliance with any company purchasing policies.

3.2. Assist the Operations Department with managing and quoting products and services with suppliers.

4. HEALTH AND SAFETY

4.1. Assist the Operations and Regulatory Manager with any health and safety issues

4.2. Contribute to the health and safety of employees by ensuring compliance to safety policies.

5. OTHER RELATED TASKS

5.1. Able to work outside of business hours periodically.

5.2. Perform any other task or responsibility requested by the Operations and Regulatory Manager.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**

**Education**: College degree in transportation logistics or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant.

**Experience**:More than 3 years in an administrative role in transport or a company that distributes chemical products.

**Skills**: Managing priorities, ability to work under pressure, meticulous, analytical, organization skills, good communication and customer service oriented, computer skills with Excel and Word.
